I was asked to make a special multi-media portrait in the style of Devon artist Jane Perkins who has an extensive portfolio of famous paintings and portraits all made in an exciting variety of found objects. My portrait is made up of a large number of buttons, beads, shells, small pebbles, tiny plastic toys, golf tees, sticks, pencils, pen tops and many many more things you'll have to spot for yourself! Together the school and I collected as much as we could for the project and I worked with a few children at the end to make up the background with dried black beans with a few buttons & bits as well.
